Kinderboerderij De Blije Wei is gevestigd in/rond een oude boerderij uit 1937. Oorspronkelijk ligt deze boerderij aan de Bergse Linker Rottekade, welke gesloten is voor auto's. Via de achterzijde van het eigen terrein, dwars door het bij de boerderij behorende Ommoordse Veld ligt het kikkerpad, waardoor de Kinderboerderij nu eenvoudig met de auto is te bereiken.
De Kinderboerderij wordt beheerd door Stichting Natuurstad Rotterdam welke als doel het stimuleren van duurzaam denken en handelen door middel van recreatie en educatie heeft. Op de kinderboerderij zijn veel soorten dieren, zoals geiten, koeien, schapen, pony's, varkens, kippen, kalkoenen en konijnen. Ook is er een grote eendenvijver en staat er een volliere.
Rondom de Blijde Wei ligt het Ommoordse Veld. Dit park wordt ecologisch beheerd: boomtakken groeien er tot de grond en de bloemrijke bermen zoemen van de bijen, libellen en vlinders.

Children's farm De Blije Wei is located in / around an old farm from 1937. Originally, this farm is located on the Bergse Linker Rottekade, a dyke which is closed to cars. The 'kikkerpad' (frog path) is located at the back of the site, right through the fields belonging to the farm, so that the children's farm is now easy reachable by car.
The Children's Farm is managed by Stichting Natuurstad Rotterdam, which aims to stimulate sustainable thinking and acting through recreation and education. There are many types of animals at the petting zoo, such as goats, cows, sheep, ponies, pigs, chickens, turkeys and rabbits. There is also a large duck pond and a fuller one.
The fields 'Ommoordse Veld' is located around the Blijde Wei. This park is ecologically managed: tree branches grow to the ground and the flowery roadsides are buzzing with bees, dragonflies and butterflies.
