This truck stop is currently the Flying J, but when I want to school at UND, back in the 80s, this was the Big Sioux Truck Stop and the Big Sioux Café was a draw for a lot of folks in the area. The family that ran the truck stop named it after the Fighting Sioux mascot at the University of North Dakota. The mascot has been changed and it looks like this wooden Indian has not seen any paint in a long time.
