The Mooragh Park Floodlights at the tennis facility in Mooragh Park in Ramsey were opened on 12th July 2015 by Hon. Allan Bell MHK.
The opening was marked by the unveiling of a small plaque close to the entrance of one of the tennis courts.
The text on the plaque is as follows:
'
Mooragh Park Floodlights
The floodlights were open on behalf of
Ramsey Tennis Club by the Hon Allan Bell MHK, Chief Minister
on the 12th July 2015.
The provision of these lights was only made possible by
the very generous donations received by the club from
Appleby, Celton Manx, Isle of Man Sport,
The Lawn Tennis Association & The Trustees of the
LE Williamson Bequeathed funds.' Allan Robert BellAt the time of this Grand Opening Allan Bell was an MHK for the town of Ramsey, his hometown and the Island's Chief Minister.
Allan was born on 20th June 1947 and attended Ramsey Grammar School. He had a long career of public service, serving as a Ramsey Town Commissioner and then as MHK for Ramsey for over 30 years.
