EN: The Ferrovia Lugano – Ponte Tresa (FLP) is a narrow-gauge railway between Lugano and Ponte Tresa. It is 12.3 kilometers long and opened in Summer 1912. Today it is integrated as line S60 in the Ticino suburban railway network and is mainly used by commuters from the Malcantone and the neighboring Italian communities working in the Lugano area. On weekdays there is a train every 15 minutes, in the evenings and on weekends every 30 minutes. In the last 10 years the number of passengers has increased by around 70% and is now around 2.5 million passengers per year.

The Lugano station is the eastern terminus of the line. It is located about 100 meters across the place in front of the SBB (Swiss Federal Rail) station of Lugano. You don't see it, if you don't know the location, because it is a floor lower than the street and has a restaurant on top (I almost missed my train).

IT (translated by DeepL): La Ferrovia Lugano - Ponte Tresa (FLP) è una ferrovia a scartamento ridotto tra Lugano e Ponte Tresa.
