Very fancy for an outdoor, or cemetery crucifix. Mounted on a cairn alter of native stones, this polished marble image mounted on a steel cross is the centerpiece to this large cemetery.
"Assumption Catholic Cemetery is also known as Catholic Cemetery and used to be called St. Mary's Cemetery. From Morrison, Missouri go south on Main Street toward MO-100 W. The cemetery is on the right. It is located within the same fenced area as the Good Hope Cemetery.
"The death certificates from about 1921 to 1951 disclosed that the undertakers for the area identified the cemetery as "St Mary's". The Catholic Diocese advised they do not have any record of the cemetery being called "St Mary's" and it's recorded name was "Assumption". The Diocese representative speculated that the locals called the cemetery "St Mary's", because of the "Assumption of Mary"." ~ Find-A-Grave
