Sappemeer Oost station is a station in Sappemeer in the province of Groningen. It is located on the railway from Groningen to Bad Nieuweschans and Germany. The station is located slightly east of the Hoogezand-Sappemeer station. The railway was opened on May 1, 1868 and is now operated by Arriva.
Plans were made in 2016 to close this station, and on February 2, 2017, it was announced that this will indeed happen as of mid-December 2022. This has been decided, because in the new concession it will no longer be possible to visit this station. The platform is shorter than that of the other stations along this line, allowing longer trains to run after closure.
