[FR] Il s’agit d’un long chemin ombragé et entouré d’arbres fleuris au Printemps semé, avant chaque tournant, des scènes de la Passion du Christ. On découvre en effet à chaque lacet une station nouvelle, allant de la condamnation du Christ jusqu’à sa mort sur la croix.
En 1864, un rapport (écrit probablement par J.-B. Chevalt) stipule qu'au vu du développement important du pèlerinage de Rocamadour, un complément indispensable serait "l'érection d'un chemin de croix monumental s'élevant de l'église à travers les rochers jusqu'au sommet du coteau où serait placé le calvaire". Mais l'achèvement des travaux des sanctuaires, les réparations à faire sur la combe nord suite à l'éboulement majeur de 1865, retardent ce projet. La XIe station a été offerte en 1886 par Charles Toussaint, vicomte de Montmaur, et son épouse Camille de Pollalion de Glavenas.

The rehabilitation of the pilgrimage churches was begun in 1858.
A report from 1864 stipulates that in light of the significant development of pilgrimage to Rocamadour, an indispensible addition would be "the erection of a monumental way of the cross connecting the church with the summit of the cliff where the cross would be placed". But the construction of the sanctuaries and repairs needed after the landslide of 1865, delayed the project. The 11th station was completed in 1886.
