Monument to Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao

"Sculpture made of black granite, with a large stone alluding to the surroundings of Galicia, with its estuaries marked on the left side. The figure of Castelao appears as embedded in the stone, thus forming part of Galician geology. The monument was inaugurated in April 1995 and is located on the hill of Santa Susana, near the church. It was performed by Francisco Leiro Lois (Cambados 1957). The work of this sculptor appears frequently in public places: the Sereo of Vigo, a Warrior in Ferrol or an Atlas in Sanxenxo. "
