The three wise monkeys came to us from Japan, and later Mahata Gandhi had a sculpture of them made.
This American version appear to be Chimpanzees dressed in clothes and wearing shoes. The "hear no evil" and "see no evil" are on the left end of the bench with just enough space for a person to sit, then the "speak no evil" chimp is on the right end of the bench.
