The mortar which was found in the woods in 1880 is one of the few artifacts existing today related to the Indian history of Leominster.

The base of this monument is made of granite from the Quarry on Granite St., and was originally the Corner Stone of the Old Town Hall which was built in 1895, and later burned on December 22, 1909. The mortar which was found in the woods in 1880 is one of the few artifacts existing today related to the Indian history of Leominster.
