Das LVR-LandesMuseum (auch bekannt als Rheinisches Landesmuseum) ist ein Museum zur Geschichte des Rheinlands in der Bonner Innenstadt. Es zeigt die archäologische, kunst- und kulturhistorische Entwicklung des Rheinlands von der Steinzeit bis zur Gegenwart.

Auf dem Platz vor dem Eingang des Museums steht ein Kunstwerk des Neusser Künstlers Dieter Patt. Es trägt den Titel "Der Neandertaler und Beuys" und zeigt beide genannten Personen: Einen Neandertaler, der vor etwa 42.000 Jahren im Rheinland gelebt hat, und den Künstler Joseph Beuys. Damit hat Patt zwei charakteristische Figuren der rheinischen Kultur- und Kunstgeschichte ausgewählt und das Spektrum des LVR-LandesMuseums abgebildet.

Die beiden Figuren sind aus Stahlplatten geschnitten, sind 2,5 bis 3 Meter groß und stehen auf einer signierten Bodenplatte. Die Machart erinnert dabei an riesige Scherenschnitte.
The LVR-LandesMuseum (also known as Rheinisches Landesmuseum) is a museum on the history of the Rhineland in the center of Bonn. It shows the archaeological, artistic and cultural-historical development of the Rhineland from the Stone Age to the present.

A work of art by the Neuss artist Dieter Patt is on the square in front of the entrance to the museum. It bears the title "Der Neandertaler und Beuys" ("The Neanderthal man and Beuys") and shows both of these people: a Neanderthal man who lived in the Rhineland about 42,000 years ago and the artist Joseph Beuys. Patt has thus selected two characteristic figures of the Rhenish cultural and artistic history and depicted the spectrum of the LVR-LandesMuseum.

The two figures are cut from steel plates, are 2.5 to 3 meters tall and stand on a signed base plate. The design is reminiscent of giant paper cuts.
