Hraunfossar Waterfalls runs down the brims of Hallmundarhraun lava field and into Hvítá River. Over a distance of more than 900 meters there seem to flow many streams from the lava field. The water originates from Langjökull glacier. The glacial meltwater has to travel to Hallmundarhraun, filtering through the lava field and spouting out again in an incredible water array.
The name comes from the Icelandic word for lava (hraun) and the word for waterfalls (fossar).
I think it is the most beautiful waterfall of Iceland
