An official parking lot will not be available until after completion of the Campeau Drive bridge across the Carp River in 2022. Occasionally, a few unofficial parking spots are available at the posted co-ordinates. The text below is taken from an interpretive sign on site.
In 2016 a four-kilometre section of the Carp River was restored to a natural state as part of the development of Kanata West. The restored river and wetlands now support a diversity of wildlife, filter and store water, reduce nutrient loading, and slow storm water runoff. The project was carried out in partnership with the City of Ottawa, local developers, and the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority.
