"Built to the plans of architect Georges Thurin, the school complex was built in 1935 to meet the demographic needs of the town, following fifty years of industrialization.
Its scale is surprising at first, but even more so, the presence in a small Norman town of a work typical of the modern movement. Listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments, this building needs to be protected while retaining, at the start of the 21st century, its vocation as a school
Two wings (girls 'side and boys' side) of six rooms each unfold on either side of a central rotunda section. They are extended by two covered courtyards on the terrace where the accommodation of the director and the director are located, and by a building with baths and showers. "

"Construit sur les plans de l’architecte Georges Thurin, le groupe scolaire fut édifié en 1935 pour répondre aux besoins démographiques de la commune, suite à cinquante années d’industrialisation.
Son ampleur étonne au premier abord, mais plus encore, la présence dans un petit bourg normand d’un ouvrage typique du mouvement moderne. Inscrit à l’Inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques, ce bâtiment demande à être protégé tout en conservant, en ce début de XXIe siècle, sa vocation d’école.
Deux ailes (côté filles et côté garçons) de six salles chacune se déploient de part et d'autre d'une partie centrale en rotonde. Elles sont prolongées par deux préaux couverts en terrasse où se trouvent les logements du directeur et de la directrice, et par un bâtiment de bains-douches."
