Since last fall, EDF Hydro has been undertaking a large-scale project in the town of Cadeilhan-Trachère (65) aimed at replacing the penstocks of the Saint-Lary hydroelectric power station. These giant pipes, which convey water from lakes located at altitude to the power station, date from 1920. The new pipes will be installed by 2021, under the supervision of the EDF Hydro Engineering department and with the help of several Pyrenean or Occitan companies. A total of € 7 million of investment to ensure the continuity of production of the plant, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2020.

To present the different stages of the site and its impact on local life, EDF Hydro organized a third public information meeting, in the presence of elected officials and associations, on Thursday May 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the village hall of Cadeilhan-Trachère .

A major project for 4 years
In the town of Cadeilhan-Trachère, located in the Aure valley, a major renovation project has been taking place since the end of last summer and until 2021 on the penstocks of the Saint-Lary hydroelectric power station (2 x 120 meters of pipes or 80 tonnes of steel), the basin and the Eget inlet tunnel.

Depuis l’automne dernier, EDF Hydro entreprend sur la commune de Cadeilhan-Trachère (65) un vaste chantier visant à remplacer les conduites forcées de la centrale hydroélectrique de Saint-Lary. Ces tuyaux géants, qui acheminent l’eau des lacs situés en altitude vers la centrale, datent de 1920. Les nouvelles conduites seront mises en place d’ici 2021, sous le pilotage du service Ingénierie d’EDF Hydro et avec le concours de plusieurs entreprises pyrénéennes ou occitanes. Au total, 7 M€ d’investissement pour assurer la continuité de production de la centrale, qui fêtera ses 100 ans en 2020.

Pour présenter les différentes étapes du chantier et son impact sur la vie locale, EDF Hydro a organisé une troisième réunion publique d’information, en présence d’élus et associations, le jeudi 16 mai à 18h00 à la salle des fêtes de Cadeilhan-Trachère.

Un chantier majeur pendant 4 ans
Sur la commune de Cadeilhan-Trachère, située en vallée d’Aure, se déroule depuis la fin de l’été dernier et jusqu’en 2021 un chantier majeur de rénovation des conduites forcées de la centrale hydroélectrique de Saint-Lary (2 x 120 mètres de tuyaux soit 80 tonnes d’acier), du bassin et de la galerie d’amenée d’Eget.
