Oliver Eats Ltd. often displays, in-season, fresh produce from local farms. This fall was an abundance of pumpkins, squash and garlic.
With the door open, as you walk inside the aroma is the first thing you notice. Several glass enclosed display cabinets showcase an array of local as well as international deli meats and cheeses.
Recently moving to Oliver, I often pass Oliver Eats to realized they are always busy and the outside eating area is usually full and people waiting to enter the store. People go there for their made fresh sandwiches and chili and much more.

Oliver Eats believes that connecting people through food creates a better community. Our mission is to expand the local food economy by supporting its producers. We provide resources to the food entrepreneur and a place for the public to experience food.
We forge alliances with chefs, farmers, and grassroots organizations that promote self-sufficiency, food security and sustainability through education. We provide resources to the food entrepreneur through a vertical integration of services. This includes offering products through our fast casual counter deli, selling items in our venue showcase and opportunities to showcase member’s skills.
Derek Uhlemann Chef/ Founder
Derek Uhlemann’s career started in Vancouver Island’s vibrant culinary community before being drawn to the wine and agriculture of the south Okanagan Valley. His stops along the way included BC coastal fly-in fishing lodges, boutique wineries, Albanian mining camps, après ski bars, and creating Piggy’s BarBQ in Penticton BC. Derek has worked with restaurants, wineries, farmers, and food artisans throughout British Columbia as an advocate for certified organic, minimal intervention, and restorative agriculture.
Chef Derek’s mission is to share the Pastrami sandwich with the world and create conversation around community and food.
