The plaque says, "The Mescalero Apaches donated this stone in memory of Father Albert who was a missionary for many years. He built St. Joseph's Church in Mescalero, N.M. for them and was buried in the church."

This granitic rock is very unique in that is has a gigantic xenolith in it. So big, in fact, that is displays chilled margins along the edges of the xenolith.
