"Flame of Hope" is an sculpture made by the Mexican artist Leonardo Nierman. It is located at the southwestern exit of the John C. Hitt Library on a small hill overlooking the UCF reflection pond. The sculpture is made of bronze and is nine and a half feet tall.

Nierman also created "Genesis", a stained glass window on the library's third floor; the two pieces of art were obtained by the university in 1987. His artwork has also been featured in several art exhibitions held by the library.
