The Xunta de Galicia built a new Public Hospital in Vigo that provides health care to more than 600,000 residents of this city and its area of ??influence. It is the largest public sanitary work undertaken in recent times in Spain.

The acquisition and assembly of the equipment for the start-up and operation of the health services in the new hospital in Vigo is co-financed by the European Union, within the framework of the ERDF Galicia 2014-2020 Operational Program, Thematic objective of promoting equality , health and social inclusion, to provide better health coverage to the population of the Vigo region, reducing the average structural waiting time for surgery and achieving greater ambulatory care for surgical procedures.
