"The outer harbor is reserved for the fishing flotilla which moor along its docks and unload the daily catch there.
About ten units are active and practice coastal fishing, also called fresh fishing. The boats leaving the time of a tide, the fish or shellfish do not then undergo any conservation treatment.
The species caught are sole, dogfish, gurnard, horse mackerel, mackerel, cod, turbot, eel, brill or pout, plaice, dab, whiting, cuttlefish.
The fishermen of Honfleur, however, have two specialties: the gray shrimp which is sold alive on landing and from October to April the scallop. "

" L’avant-port est réservé à la flottille de pêche qui s’amarre le long de ses quais et y décharge la pêche journalière.
Une dizaine d’unités sont en activité et pratiquent la pêche côtière, appelée aussi pêche fraîche. Les bateaux sortant le temps d’une marée, les poissons ou crustacés ne subissent alors aucun traitement de conservation.
Les espèces capturées sont la sole, la roussette, le grondin, le chinchard, le maquereau, le cabillaud, le turbot, l’anguille, la barbue ou tacaud, la plie, la limande, le merlan, la seiche.
Les pêcheurs de Honfleur ont cependant deux spécialités : la crevette grise qui est vendue vivante au débarquement et d’octobre à avril la coquille Saint-Jacques."
