A quote from the poem 'For the Fallen appears on The Battle for Normandy Memorial Plaque, The Evacuation of Dunkirk Memorial Plaque and The 8th Army Memorial Plaque located on the Stoke New Cenotaph outside the Kings Hall, Kingsway in Stoke.

The quote: "We will remember them" is the last line of the fourth stanza of the poem,
" They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

The Stoke Normandy Veterans Memorial plaque is a plain rectangular metal plaque with the inscription in relief and two shields.
The inscription reads as follows;

The Stoke Dunkirk Veterans plaque is a rectangular metal plaque with the inscription in relief and the badge of the Dunkirk Veterans Association.
The inscription reads as follows;
"1940
DUNKIRK VETERANS ASSOCIATION
STOKE-ON-TRENT BRANCH
The badge of the Dunkirk Veterans Association.
TO COMMEMORATE THE EVACUATION
OF DUNKIRK AND BEACHES
MAY - JUNE 1940

The 8th Army Memorial Plaque.
The Stoke Eighth Army Veterans plaque is plain rectangular metal with the inscription in white lettering and the badge of the Eighth Army Veterans Associations and Medal in relief.
The inscription reads as follows;
"EIGHTH ARMY VETERANS ASSOCIATION
STOKE-ON-TRENT BRANCH
TO COMMEMORATE THE BATTLE OF
EL ALAMEIN
23RD OCTOBER 1942
DEDICATED TO THE MEN OF
