Operated by the Central Blair Recreation Commission There are roughly 200 games played by high school, semi-pro, and amateur ball teams a year.
Located at the corner of 24th Street and Maple Avenue, the ballpark is often referred to as the Maple Avenue Stadium.
The facility has seating for 3,000 fans in the concrete stands. There is a concession stand and restrooms. The illuminated field is a baseball layout that can be converted to a football field.
Once the home of the Altoona Rail Kings of the Heartland League. The Rail Kings are gone. The Heartland League is gone, but Vet’s Field remains.
