Dit is het beeld Worstelaars door Hans IJdo, 1959 Het eerste afgietsel werd in 1960 geplaatst in het Flevopark. Een tweede exemplaar werd in 1962 in de Keukenhof en in 1966 in Sonsbeek tentoongesteld. Daarna is dit beeld in het Park Transwijk in Utrecht geplaatst.
Johannes Hendrik IJdo volgde van 1947 tot 1951 de opleiding beeldhouwen aan de Rijksakademie te Amsterdam. Twee jaar later ontving hij de gouden medaille van de Prix de Rome.
Het ruwe materiaal (brons) past bij de kracht van de mannen.
Toch zie je dat de mannen elkaar respectvol in de ogen kijken. Het beeld symboliseert kracht en sympathie.

This is the statue Wrestlers by Hans IJdo, 1959 The first cast was placed in 1960 in the Flevopark. A second example was exhibited in Keukenhof in 1962 and in Sonsbeek in 1966. This statue was then placed in Park Transwijk in Utrecht.
