The Doctorparken park was established in 1913 with inspiration from English parks. From the 1930s to 1950s a part of the park housed a zoo. Today only the aviary is left. And of course all the ducks in the nearby lake.
In the aviary you can see canaries, budgies, parakeets, pheasants, chikens and doves.
For many years the aviary has been a popular resort for families with small children.
In 2013 the aviary was close to being shut down, because the local authorities couldn't find money enough. Today the aviary is run with help from local birdwatcher associations and student from a production shool.
