A WWI memorial cross in the churchyard of St Peter, Witherley.

The memorial consists of a square sectioned tapering plinth in a rubble 'cairn' surmounted by a tapering rectangular shafted wheel cross. There is no longer a readable inscription - it has been erased over the years by biological growth, and much may be obscured by the piled rocks.

"Midland Counties Tribune - Friday 11 July 1919 ... the people of Witherley village anxious to raise a war memorial .. and in favour of one like the Boer War memorial at Nuneaton."
