The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Trail begins on Jomax Road, on the south side of a small butte. The memorial itself, marked by a flagpole, is about 1,000 feet from the trailhead and requires a moderate uphill hike on the well-maintained trail. Along the trail are forty-four plaques giving some statistics on the war and in honor of specific veterans. There are also several benches set along the trail. This guest book, housed in a metal container, is set at a plaque in honor of Captain David A. Krichbaum, near the flagpole.
