The Old Town Hall at South March (March Corners), built in 1901, is recommended for designation for architectural and historical reasons. Architecturally it is an example of rural public architecture; skillfully constructed using local materials and craftsmanship. Historically the building served as a focal point for political, social and cultural activities, as as a civic symbol for 66 years until a new Town Hall was constructed in South March in 1967. The Town Hall is an integrate part of the historic March Corners which due to its central location in the township developed into a community containing a post office, hotel, and two general stores, the buildings of which still remain.
