Johannes van Haren bought this shoe factory in 1913 to continue his shoe business. His three sons Cornelis, Ivo and Johannes have also become active in the shoe and leather industry. Ivo was the most successful in the shoe trade. Ivo opened his first store in Rotterdam. Before 1929 there was already activity in this factory, but in that year production became larger, which also involved various renovations. During the war years the factory was requisitioned by the Germans for maintenance of aircraft engines. The factory complex consists of several national monuments: factory building, service residence, canteen and gate. The gate consists of a metal arch with the inscription "VAN HAREN". Next to it is the canteen and next to it at number 39 the staff residence. In the hall of the main building there are wall paintings by Theo van Delft. The name Van Haren continues in a large Dutch retail chain.

Ivo van Haren died in 1965 and is succeeded by his sons Jacques and Johann van Haren. They know how to expand the company even further. When at the end of 1984 Jacques van Haren has to decide to give the company a new owner for health reasons, an organization with a similar corporate culture is sought. Van Haren had to remain a family business. The choice for the successful German family business Deichmann Schuhe was quickly made: Deichmann, the largest shoe company in Europe, has been the parent organization since 1985.

The Morentz company (design and creation of high-quality furniture) is currently the user (since 2006) of the property.
