The Laurier Bridge was built along Laurier Avenue in 1900 to allow vehicular and pedestrian traffic to cross the Rideau Canal, in Ottawa, Ontario. The plaque is located under the bridge, in proximity to the Queen Elizabeth Driveway.

The inscription on the Plaque reads as follows;

Pont Laurier Bridge
1900
Ministre des Travaux Publics
Hon. J.I. Tarte Minister of Public Works

Another plaque nearby was added in 2013 but is not fastened to the bridge. The text of that plaque is provided hereunder:

This bridge is named after Sir Wilfrid Laurier
Prime Minister of Canada from 1896 to 1900.
Laurier Bridge was reconstructed in 2001-1003.
The original four arches built in 1900 over the
Rideau Canal were refurbished and two
new arches to the south were added.
Date built or dedicated as indicated on the date stone or plaque.: 1900

Date stone, plaque location.: The plaque is under the bridge, in the middle of one of the arches and can be easily seen from the sidewalk on Queen Elizabeth Driveway.

Road, body of water, land feature, etc. that the bridge spans.: The Rideau Canal, built in 1832 by Lieutenant-Colonel John By of the Royal Engineers
