In 1356 Eckhard von Felsberg donated a chapel in Rhünda. The Markuskirche is a medieval building with a choir from the year it was built. The church of Rhünda has been a branch of the church of Gensungen since 1585, and from 1692 a branch of the church of Harle. Today's half-timbered tower was built in 1695. The altarpiece dates from the 19th century and shows the transfiguration of Jesus according to the Gospel of Mark. In the course of the church renovation, the galleries and pulpit fields were artistically designed with biblical stories from the Gospel of Mark.
