The sign says, "A modest cottage built for Eugene Senlis, an employee of San Diego pioneer horticulturist Kate Session. This house, without the amenities of gas, electricity, water or sewer, is an example of dwellings occupied in the 1880's by working-class people. Public restrooms are located at the rear of the Senlis Cottage. Built in 1896."
