"The resistance monument in Veenhuizen (municipality of Noorderveld) consists of a natural stone plaque with a text in relief. The plaque (50 cm by 90 cm) has been embedded in a square column of brick, framed by fieldstones. On the left side of the column is a memorial bench made of fieldstones, with a wooden seating area (2.20 m long and 30 cm wide). In front of the column there is a small flower bed, delimited by field boulders. The whole is two meters high, four meters wide and 60 centimeters deep. In the column is a bricked-in tube with the names of the 25 Veenhuizer victims, who died in different circumstances and at different places.

The text on the plaquette:

'1940-1945'
"REMEMBERING, WHO READS THESE WORDS,
MY COMPANIONS IN DEATH.
AND WHO PURSUE THEM MOST OF ALL
IN THEIR MISFORTUNES GREAT;
AS WE TOO HAVE THOUGHT
OF OUR OWN COUNTRY AND PEOPLE."
'JAN CAMPERT'.

On May 4, 2010, a natural stone plaque was added to the monument. The plaque lists the following names:
