This chapel was founded in 1520 by the 4th Governor-General of India, Diogo Lopes de Sequeira, whose tomb can be seen inside. It's a small temple, in the surroundings of Alandroal, a small historical town in the south of Portugal. It's usually closed.

Outside there are the three Christian crosses. There is no inscription whatsoever referring to these crosses. They are made of stone, probably marble, and they stand on the top of plinths. The central one rises higher.

The spot is also the start and end of PR 1 Rota do Giro, a 4,5 km circular hiking trail.
