The modern headstone marking the final resting place of Elizabeth (Boddie) Parrish indicates that hers was the first grave in the Concord Cemetery, dating to 1869.

It appears that her final resting place was marked by fieldstones, but a modern, gray granite headstone now complements that arrangement. Mr. Parrish is buried next to her on one side, and according to Findagrave, their three children are buried on the other side. Crosses and ivy are on either side of "First Grave in Concord Cemetery" near the top of the headstone, and the inscription reads:

Elizabeth Boddie Parrish
Wife of James Parrish
Born 1832
Died Nov. 11, 1869

Elizabeth Boddie Parrish died giving birth to
triplets who are also interred here.
