This little bear is standing on a little plinth. The Bear and plinth are still part of the spruce stump that is still rooted in the front yard. The bear is rough cut with a chainsaw and has been painted, mostly black, with the face, claws and the inner ear painted white.
While I was taking pictures my wife noticed a bear on the front porch across the street. Same basic design and also carved with a chainsaw. Which leads us to believe the wielder of the cutting saw might live in the neighborhood.
