[FR] La source Cachat - ancienne fontaine Sainte Catherine située Avenue des sources à Evian - est la plus célèbre des nombreuses sources qui émergeaient à Evian. Edifiée en 1903, comme la buvette qui lui fait face, elle coule en permanence tous les jours de l'année à une température de 11,6°. Ses vertus furent révélées en 1790 par le marquis de Lessert qui souffrait de la gravelle. Dès cette date des analyses en préciseront l'efficacité dans le traitement des infections urinaires. En 1826, l'homme d'affaire genevois François Fauconnet fonde la première société d'exploitation des Eaux Minérales, et fait édifier un établissement thermal à l'emplacement de la buvette Cachat.En 1869, est créée la Société Anonyme des Eaux Minérales d'Evian-les-bains. L'eau Cachat dont la renommée ne cesse de grandir est approuvée en 1878 par l'Académie de Médecine et primée la même année à l'Exposition Universelle.
