The New Haven Botanical Garden of Healing is a peaceful spot next to the West River at 105 Valley Street in New Haven. It opened in June of 2021. It was created by three mothers who lost children to gun violence.

At the entrance to the garden is a large granite sign stating the park's purpose. There is a brick walkway that serves as a timeline from 1976 to the present year, and the bricks are engraved with the names and ages of people in the city who have died of gun violence. Along the path are five pillars holding wind chimes. At the end of the walkway is a circular area with benches and a retaining wall. The wall holds plaques engraved with comments that victims' families have said about them.

There is also a large sculpture called The Lost Generation that has three layers of steel. As the viewer's position relative to the statue changes, so do the silhouettes of the figures it depicts.

"“When you look at the sculpture from the entrance, you’d see a whole family,” explained of Jaynez. “But as you’d walk along the path, you’d see family members disappear from view – just like what happened in real life.”
