Smokey Bear - Chandler, OK - Smokey Bear Sign Sightings on Waymarking.com

On the north side of the Chandler Station 1 fire station at 220 S. Cleveland Avenue, a large wood Smokey Bear sign stands in the grass. The sign reads: "FIRE DANGER 'LOW' TODAY / PREVENT WILDFIRES".

We visited in the early summer after a season of many rainfalls, and the fire danger that day was LOW. This is often not the case in the later summer drought time. We noticed that the plastic is beginning to curl around the edges exposing the plywood beneath. Hey! I never noticed before that Smokey has his name on his belt bucket. Cool.
