The history / start of Stadsbrouwerij St Joris

"At the beginning of 2016, preparations were made in the basement of the Boterhal for the construction of a craft brewery and tasting room. The Boterhal house beers will be brewed here. The Boterhal has a rich history. It used to be a butter hall, but the Sint Joris guild has also resided in the building for 2.5 centuries. This was a rich guild of archers. In 1772, a beautiful sculpture of Saint George and the dragon was placed on the front of the building. From May 2016, the beer can be drunk in the Boterhal."

The beers:

St Joris has many beers related to the St Joris (St George) and the Dragon story. Such as:

- Stubborn Dragon (Koppige Draak)
- Double Tongue (Dubbele Tong)
- Defenseless Blonde (Weerloos Blondje)
- White Goat (Witte Geit?? (for the Dutch readers, yes this translates badly))

These beers can be drunk at the brewery (in the restaurant, the tasting room or the outside terrace) or the beers can be ordered for home delivery here (visit link)
