English:
After the war, the British telephone booth on the Utrechtseweg in Oosterbeek was donated to Oosterbeek by the British veterans who had taken part in the Battle of Arnhem.
There is also a telephone booth in Heemstede as an expression of a friendship with Leamington Spa.
The Battle of Arnhem was part of a much larger operation codenamed "Market Garden". During this operation, three Airborne Divisions went from the Belgian border in Lommel to Arnhem to seize the bridges over the various waterways, after which the British 30th Corps could advance to the middle of the Netherlands.
For the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Arnhem, the telephone booth was completely refurbished by volunteers from the Friends of the Airborn Museum.
