The Pere Marquette trail is a 30 mile portion of the Pere Marquete Railway that operated in the Great Lakes region until it merged with the C&O Railroad in 1947. The friends of the Pere Marquette Trail have transformed the railbed to a smooth paved surface, including three former railroad bridges which have been restored for non-motorized use.
