To the top, Rowsell's Hill Hiking Trail is 1.5 kilometres long and 190 metres up. Such a steep trail requires many outdoor stairways. Jacob's Ladder is the longest of those stairways. There are landings along the climb. Many of the other stairs include more than 60 steps. In total, there are more than 550 steps but most of the climb is just rough trail.
The trailhead is in the park at the Mill River. There is plenty of parking. There are toilets in the park.
