The pier is built so that wheel chairs, electric scooters have access via a ramp. There is a protective railing around the edge of the deck.

The 22-acre Whipple Lake and Laurel Run are stocked with trout by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission during the spring and winter months.
