The lake is the center piece of the Whipple Dam State Park which is a day use facility. The 22-acre Whipple Lake and Laurel Run are stocked with trout by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission during the spring and winter months.
Ice fishing is permitted on the natural ice of the 22-acre Whipple Lake., Ice thickness is not monitored.
Recommended tackle: Light to medium spin/ spinning or 4-6 wt fly line
