This trail was designed in 1998 to preserve the rural landscape and honor a part of Sandy Spring and Montgomery County's history. Along the trail are historic markers related to the Underground Railroad, despite no evidence of these events occurring along the trail itself. Despite this, the trail is a nice walk/ hike through farmland and woodland and coupled with the Underground Railroad signage, you can imagine the environment during the 1800s.
