Fra toppen af tårnet kunne lodsen holde udkig efter skibe, der havde brug for assistance til at komme sikkert i havn. I dag er tårnet ikke længere i brug, men er blevet et vartegn for Dragør.
Tårnet blev renoveret i 1950'erne og igen i 2021.
From the top of the tower, the pilot could keep an eye out for ships that needed assistance to get safely into port. Today, the tower is no longer in use, but has become a landmark for Dragør.
The tower was renovated in the 1950s and again in 2021.
