The symbol is at the same time a female sign, a sign for the Goddess Venus and the planet Venus, but here it is the symbol for copper.
The door handles sit on a red door in a building that is now used as a copper mine museum.
Falun Copper Mine in Dalarna has been a major producer of copper until well into the 1800s. The mine is now open to the public and is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
