Calm Bay is sited on the Northern Shore of Lake Manapouri sraight across from Manapouri Township. Part of Fiordland National Park in New Zealand.

Beautiful scenic bay with access only by boat. Bush is pretty thick and Scrubby.
250 meters back in from the bay is the West Mere clearings.
You'll get wet feet getting to them.
Plenty of places to set up a tent and camp.
Sandflys will annoy you most times of the year.
Is quite sheltered as a boat anchoarage and easy to access with the boat - little to no hazards.
Fishing and Hunting can both be had here although Deer not in great numbers.
Estimated size of the public land (in regional measurement standard: hectares, acres, kms, etc.): 600 metre long beach. Valley is approx 1km wide and extends back in approx 4 kms.

What points of interest are there?:
Thick bush with open clearing about 250 metres back from the beach. West Metre River holding a few fish. Superb views of surrounding mountains and peaks with calm bay itself being photogenic.


What activities are available?:
Hiking, Exploring, Fishing, Hunting, Photography, Swimming & boating.

Just dont get lost.
