Description

Le pont de Zelzate est un pont situé dans la Kanaalstraat à Zelzate, en Belgique. Le pont enjambe le canal Gand-Terneuzen et forme le lien entre les parties est et ouest de Zelzate. Il fait partie de la rocade de Gand, la R4, qui est cependant une route locale à l'intérieur de l'agglomération.

La plupart du trafic de transit utilise le tunnel de Zelzate plus au sud sur la E34-A11. Cependant, le trafic ADR ou le trafic de substances dangereuses est interdit à travers le tunnel, ils utilisent donc toujours le pont. Le pont est également toujours utilisé pour le trafic local et comme déviation lors de travaux ou d'accidents dans le tunnel.

Description

The Zelzate Bridge is a bridge in the Kanaalstraat in Zelzate, Belgium. The bridge spans the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal and forms the link between the eastern and western parts of Zelzate. It is part of the Ghent ring road, the R4, which is, however, a local road within the built-up area.

Most through traffic uses the Zelzate tunnel further south on the E34-A11. However, ADR traffic or traffic of hazardous substances is prohibited through the tunnel, so they still use the bridge. The bridge is also still used for local traffic and as a diversion during works or accidents in the tunnel.

Beschrijving

De Zelzatebrug is een brug in de Kanaalstraat in het Belgische Zelzate. De brug overspant het Kanaal Gent-Terneuzen en vormt de schakel tussen het oostelijk en westelijke deel van Zelzate. Ze maakt deel uit van de Gentse ring, de R4 die ter plekke echter een lokale weg binnen de bebouwde kom is.

Het meeste doorgaande verkeer maakt gebruik van de zuidelijker gelegen Zelzatetunnel in de E34-A11. ADR-verkeer of verkeer van gevaarlijke stoffen is echter verboden door de tunnel, dus deze gebruiken nog wel de brug. De brug wordt ook nog gebruikt voor lokaal verkeer en als omleiding bij werken of ongevallen in de tunnel.
