The Thunderbolt "Stewpot" of Dolor Alfred Martin is named after his son Stuart.

"Killed in Action (KIA) 11 November 1943 in P-47D 42-8668 356FG/360FS. 2LT Martin's aircraft was last seen in the vicinity of Arnhem, Holland, while on a mission to escort B-17s attacking at Munster, Germany. He left the formation to return to Base because his aircraft was having mechinical problems. It is believed he was suffering from lack of oxygen. He and the aircraft crashed near Veenendaal, Holland. He was buried by the German in the cemetery of Ede, Holland."
